In 2016, Ron’s debut album, Free for One, received four stars in DownBeat magazine, and tied for Number One Debut of the Year in the 2016 NPR Music Jazz Critics Poll. When not with Relâche, he is a regular performing member of the groups Mostly Other People Do the Killing, the Meat Puppets, and the Peter Evans Ensemble. He has studied piano and improvisation with artists like Edna Goldansky, Ilya Itin, Bill Dixon and Joel Futterman, and curated an improvisation performance series in Scranton, PA, as part of the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Project. He is a resident artist in Taubman Approach for jazz pianists at the Goldansky Insitute at Princeton University.
